Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Parnis has shared his plans for a new career direction after a tumultuous year that he feared could end his dancing journey.
The 34-year-old faced abuse allegations from his former dance partner Amanda Abington, which sparked an internal BBC investigation last year.
While the investigation cleared Giovanni of 10 of the 16 allegations, including the most serious allegations of physical aggression, some incidents of verbal bullying and harassment were upheld.
As a result, Giovanni withdrew from the show and did not appear in the current season.
Reflecting on the challenges he faced, Giovanni admitted to battling “dark times” but expressed optimism about the future.
In an interview with The Mirror, the dancer revealed that he is considering a big change from dancing, with aspirations to act and even sing. However, he acknowledged that there are obstacles to achieving these goals.
“I’m excited about finding new opportunities,” Giovanni said, adding that while he loves performing, he feels ready to take on new challenges off the dance floor.
The stark revelation marks a turning point for Giovanni, who is now focusing on reinventing himself after a year of personal and professional struggles.
