‘Fast and Able’ is designed to meet the needs of global markets through continuous improvement in manufacturing capacity with a high-speed 24/7 distribution model based on direct supply from the UK.
This strategy has seen exports grow by more than 70 percent over the past five years, with international sales reaching 73 percent of total revenues.
Amazon Filters is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of high quality liquid and gas filters.
They are essential for removing pollutants in process industries including municipal water, food and beverage, pharma, healthcare, chemicals and coatings, oil and gas, and green hydrogen production.
The product range includes membrane and depth filter cartridges and capsules, stainless steel filters and carbon and pleated filters, and filter housings.
On bespoke engineering projects, such as emergency response to public water supply outages or breakdowns in filtration systems on offshore oil production platforms, the company works with customers to develop unique filter formats. which fulfills specific needs.
Managing director Neil Pizzi, a chartered manufacturing engineer, says the firm has grown organically.
“The recipe for success remains the same today as it was when my father, Mike, founded the company,” explains Neal. “It’s all about being close to the customer and showing that we’re more attuned to their needs than the big multinationals.”
Neal says the core business boils down to knowledge in the form of a physical product. “Nobody buys a filter because it looks good on the mantelpiece. It’s a problem to solve. So, recognizing what it is, and helping people overcome it, is what we do.” How things work. My father understood that, and we’ve always made sure we have the skills and knowledge to help customers solve their problems.”
Amazon Filters has made a series of strategic appointments and promotions this year to strengthen its global reach.
It has added expertise in areas such as product design, fabrication, quality management and marketing solutions for the healthcare and pharma sectors. In a specific drive to further increase exports, the firm’s German subsidiary has appointed a dedicated business head for Central Europe.
The new jobs and promotions complement and reinforce the ‘rapid and substantial’ investment program underway at the central Kimberley production centre.
This includes innovations such as a motorized welding platform, an expanded floor area for cartridge production, a range of automated assembly equipment, a new metalworking facility and a storage and stock control platform.
Thanks to the investment program, Amazon Filters can now manufacture and deliver a typical annual volume of more than three million molten cartridges and one million pleated cartridges, increasing capacity, flexibility and speed of response to pre-defined orders. shows a significant increase.
Forty years after its founding, Amazon Filters today lists key sales territories in Europe, Brazil, North America, Southeast Asia, South Africa and Australia.
As well as a dedicated production, research and development and sales center in Poland, the firm employs in-region managers in France, Italy and Malaysia, supported by a UK-based team.
Neil believes that Amazon filters have a ‘strong story to tell’ about the benefits of robust filtration solutions for sustainability. “A good quality filter lasts longer, reduces waste and reduces system contamination,” he says. “This directly helps pressure industries to make better use of resources, for example due to regulatory regimes that drive environmental standards and initiatives.”
Reflecting this same environmental focus, Amazon Filters has this year become the first UK filter manufacturer to use polypropylene produced from renewable resources to produce molten filter media.
Effectively reducing the carbon footprint of each filter, the firm launched sustainable polypropylene versions of four ranges widely used in critical liquid filtration processes.
All activities are guided by a range of ISO approved and other international quality standards that demonstrate safety, reliability and excellence in customer service.
Among future growth objectives, the firm is targeting further work in the global hydrogen production industry.
“It’s an ongoing journey,” says Neal. “By investing in people and processes and being the best we can be, we improve our customer offering and develop key markets.”
