Lucky Marwat: Under Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s public service agenda, more than 500 ornamental and flower plants were distributed here for roadside and urban and rural plantation activities.
Municipal officials received the saplings from Deputy Commissioner Zeeshan Abdullah at a function held at District Headquarters Complex Tajzai on Thursday. Assistant Commissioner Yasir Nazir, SDFO Naqibullah Khan, Tehsil Officer Regulations Rafiullah Khan and Sentry Inspector Khalid Khan were also present.
The Forest Department had arranged plantations for Tehsil Laki Marwat and Ghazni Khel Tehsil Municipal Bodies on the request of the District Administration. The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers of the municipal administration to plant saplings on roadsides and prominent places in their respective areas.
He said that plantation activities will improve the beauty of the roads and provide a clean, green and healthy environment to the citizens, adding that more saplings will be provided to municipal institutions, educational institutions and other government departments. He said that his administration will establish green belts in Lucky city and other major towns of the district.
