Passengers at the country’s busiest airports, including Gatwick and Manchester, are facing widespread disruption due to the fog.

Dozens of flights from Heathrow were also delayed or canceled but an airport spokesman did not clarify whether the disruption was due to the weather when contacted by the BBC.

“Like most airports across the country, we have experienced some delays as a result of the fog,” a spokesperson said.
