According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), California-based Braga Fresh… issued a voluntary health advisory. Regarding the same produce of washed and ready-to-eat broccoli sold at Walmart under the store’s market-side label. 12-ounce bags of marketside broccoli florets may be contaminated with listeria. Multiple random samples from a store in Texas yielded positive laboratory results.
The broccoli listed under the precautionary advisory was sold at Walmart stores in the following states: Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon , Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
To date, no illnesses have been reported.
How to Identify Infected Marketside Broccoli
Broccoli has a best if used by date of December 10, 2024. It is no longer on store shelves, but it may still be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Affected packaging is labeled with the following identification:
- UPC: 6 81131 32884 5 (on the back of the bag)
- Lot Code: BFFG327A6 (front of bag)
- Best-if-use date: December 10, 2024

What to do if you have an affected product in your home
