Renowned filmmaker Charles Shire, known for directing hit comedies. Father of the bridedied at the age of 83.

Meanwhile, Shire’s family, in a statement to Deadlineexpressed his grief, saying, “It is with an unspeakably heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved father, Charles Shire.”
“His loss leaves a gaping hole in our lives, but his legacy lives on through his children and the five decades of outstanding work he left behind,” he added.
The family concluded by honoring “her extraordinary life” and saying “there will never be another like her.”
Shire’s illustrious career as a screenwriter also includes writing for the 1977 blockbuster. Smokey and the Bandit, House Calls And Going south. In 1978
Their breakthrough came in 1980 Private Benjaminfor which he received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
Shires made his directorial debut in 1984 Irreconcilable differences and continued his success with the 1987 classic Baby boom.
