A contestant on last year’s series of The Traitors has revealed his tips on how to spot potential “traitors” as the third series kicks off with some major plot twists.

Contestants chosen as traitors on the hit BBC reality TV show must secretly “kill” their fellow players, known as “loyalists”, before they become their next victim. Want to track them down and “kick” them out of the game.

Charlotte Chilton from Warwickshire was loyal to the second series of the show. It was won by treacherous Harry Clarke, who took home more than £95,000 in prize money.

Her tips include questioning “anyone who talks too much” and she also warns fellow contestants against believing they’re too good to be traitors.

Speaking to the BBC, Mrs Chilton said: “Harry, I never thought he was capable of being a traitor. But actually when you look back at him, you think, of course he was.

“If I walked into it now, no matter how cute and wonderful you are, I wouldn’t believe it.”

Reflecting on her time on the show, Ms Chilton said: “You go in there with a bit of innocence and you don’t realize it’s all for play.”

“Nothing is off limits,” he regretted.

‘cut throat’

Ms Chilton said she “loved” watching the first episode of the new series.

“I really enjoyed it because I didn’t know what was going on this time, so it gave me that extra element of excitement this year,” she said.

The former contestant also said she enjoyed the two twists in the show’s format that were revealed in Wednesday night’s episode, adding that it was “cut throat”.

“One thing I will say is that watching it makes me feel a lot of sympathy for everyone in it, because it’s really, really hard,” she said.

“I’ve seen an hour that was probably filmed in two days and there must have been a lot more conversation than that in reality.”

The third series of the hit show began on New Year’s Day on BBC One.

Ms Chilton also said that many of the new contestants from the second series had reached out to her and fellow players before her turn in the game, and that she was excited that new people were “joining the family of traitors”.

“We all get together when we can, we try and meet. [up]”She said of her relationship with her former contestant, Charlie stayed with Mrs Chilton during New Years with the Bees.

While viewers will learn about this year’s players during the series, Ms Chilton said people will not be able to predict what moves the contestants will make.

“[The show is] It’s based on taking ordinary people and putting them in this really stressful situation and seeing what they do,” he said.

“You just have to see it unfold.”
