This letter refers to Sohail Waraich’s article ‘The era of old politics is over’ (29 November 2024). In my view, PTI and People’s Party are the future of Pakistan’s politics. The public has invested so much emotionally in these two parties that their demise would be unnatural.
The elements who have lost the most ground in the ensuing conflict are Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and co. Any attempt to start a new party would be met with public contempt.
