She told the podcast, “I think people shame you for where you come from as a star kid. Like, I don’t want to be ashamed of my dad. She comes from a family of doctors. But he wanted to be an actor, and he became one, he worked hard and worked his way up.”
The 26-year-old actress said she despises being a star kid because it has exposed people’s perceptions.
She didn’t hesitate to mention the downside of coming from a star-studded family, prompting the audience to think, “Oh, that’s their kid.”
Ananya said that this approach does not necessarily appreciate the talent of the actor as he spoke against the concept.
