Naga Chaitanya has always been secretive about the Morse code tattoo on his left hand but during the promotions of his filmLal Singh Chadha‘, the actor talked about it. When asked about fans’ crazy experiences, he finally shared the story behind the tattoo, revealing its deep personal significance.
In a previous interview with Bollywood Bubble, Naga Chaitanya mentioned that some fans tried to copy his tattoo without understanding the meaning. He even said that he would never recommend anyone to duplicate it. He explained, “I’ve met a few fans who have tattooed my name and copied that tattoo (points to his arm) That’s not what you want.”
The actor revealed that the Morse code tattoo represents his wedding date. Samantha Ruth Prabhu. “This is the day I got married,” he said, emphasizing that it had a special meaning for him. He added that he wouldn’t want fans to get the same tattoo, as it was very personal to his own journey.
After his divorce from Samantha, Naga Chaitanya was asked if he would ever consider changing his tattoo. Laughing, he replied, “I haven’t thought about it until today. Nothing to change. It’s fine.”
Naga Chaitanya’s ex-wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu also had a tattoo in his honor, a ‘tea’ mark above her waist near her ribcage. He even showed tattoos in some of his pictures. However, during her ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on social media, Samantha hinted that she regrets getting a tattoo, admonishing her younger self, “Never get a tattoo.”
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha got married in 2017 with two separate ceremonies. Sadly, their marriage ended in 2021 when they announced their divorce. Since then, Naga Chaitanya became engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala, and the couple exchanged rings on August 8 at a private ceremony in Hyderabad.
