Desperate Housewives Mastermind Mark Cherry reveals that he has a wealth of ideas for a possible spin-off of the hit series.
The screenwriter has expressed his eagerness to explore new stories and characters, and is already brainstorming ways to bring the spin-off to life.
“I’d probably like to do this idea in the first decade,” Cherry — who estimates he has “about 70,000 people” — said of him relaunching the series. People magazine.
“Because the character I miss writing the most is actually Wisteria Lane. It was the most fun playground in the history of television, because we owned the entire street.
The classic ABC drama, Desperate Housewivesran for eight seasons from 2004 to 2012, garnering widespread critical acclaim and multiple Emmy wins.
The show’s talented star cast included Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Eva Longoria.
“I know this street like the back of my hand,” Cherry continued.
“When someone shoots a commercial on that street, I know it right away, because I know all the houses, I know the geography. It was such a fun place to write. And there are times when I I go, ‘You know what? I wonder if I can write Wisteria Lane like 1966.’
