PESHAWAR: Sunni elders of Karam district have welcomed the decisions of the apex committee to rid it of illegal weapons.
Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, leaders including Anjuman Farooquia General Secretary Imran highlighted the ongoing communal violence in Karam for the past three months.
He accused the local authorities of inaction during the attacks on Bagan area, where houses, mosques and markets were destroyed. The leaders alleged that extremist groups including the Zainabion Brigade were involved in violent incidents including the killing of women and children.
