Cynthia Ario will love her fans wherever possible, even if it’s in a movie theater.
The actress, who plays Alphabet in the highly anticipated film adaptation. Wickedshared his thoughts on singing in movie theaters while attending the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Thursday.
With many theaters issuing warnings against singing during screenings, Ariyo, 39, expressed her support for fans who express themselves through the beloved musical.
“Good. I’m fine with that,” he said. “We’ve spent this long singing it ourselves – now it’s time for everyone else to join in. It’s great.”
Erivo also reflected on his experience working in the film, describing how singing along with fans can make a dream more beautiful into reality.
“It’s a dream come true, to be able to share it with my family and friends,” she said. “People are sharing their experiences and feeling different. And they’re comfortable enough to share that with me. I’m really grateful for that.”
Amid the excitement surrounding the film, rumors of a significant pay gap between Erivo and his co-star Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda, went viral on social media.
The claims show that Erivo earned $1 million for the role, while Grande earned $15 million.
A spokesperson for Universal Pictures has since denied the allegations.
“Reports of a pay disparity between Cynthia and Ariana are completely false and based on Internet fodder,” the statement read, as reported. Variety. “Women were paid equally for their work. Wicked”
Despite the clarification, Universal did not disclose the specific salaries paid to any of the actresses.
