Ironically, Pakistan, which contributes less than 1 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, is one of the countries most at risk from climate change. Devastating floods and record-breaking heat waves are among the consequences that are already disrupting livelihoods and claiming lives.
But this crisis also provides an opportunity to change course and adopt sustainable habits. Risks can be reduced by switching to renewable energy, investing in climate-resilient infrastructure, and implementing environmentally friendly farming practices. It is the responsibility of every individual, group and legislator to confront this existential crisis.
