Holiday tree decorations are being recalled due to a potential fire hazard after being sold at major retailers across the country.
gave Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) shared in a recent notice that holiday decoration company Mr. Christmas Was recalling my “Wireless Decorative Tree Light Controllers”. The product allows users to turn a lever. Lights On and off a tree instead of unplugging the actual wire of the light.
A red controller made up of a switch and receiver is being recalled because the receiver may overheat when plugged into an outlet, posing a fire hazard.
As of December 12, approximately 44,600 units of the product were officially recalled. Consumers who have purchased wireless tree light controllers should stop using them immediately and return the product to the store where they received it for a full refund.
While no injuries have been caused by the controllers, Mr Christmas said there have been 10 reports of the product overheating. One of these reports stated that the product caused a fire.
The recalled white greeting has the words “Mr. Christmas” on it, along with one of these three model numbers: 39611, 39612, or 39630.
When the controller was sold. Walmart and Cracker Barrel, shaped like “green, red and white peppermint candy with a candy cane on/off lever.” It also says: “Christmas Light Controller”.
