Christina Aguilera recently shut down trolls who accused her of using Ozempic, a diabetes drug, for rapid weight loss.
The 44-year-old music artist shared a video post on Instagram in which she is apparently wrapping up the year on New Year’s Eve.
“This year, doing something different,” Aguilera began.
Singer of I turn to you. continued, “It’s a reminder to everyone that you are your own storyteller in your own life.”
“Nobody else can say who you are,” he added, “nobody deserves an explanation.”
According to Aguilera, she has evolved enough to know that “nothing is easy and no one is perfect”.
The singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality continued, “Everybody’s going to judge you. It doesn’t matter what you do.”
“And/or what you don’t. Acceptance comes with first accepting yourself,” she continued.
“And sometimes it’s a tough journey to get there,” said the mother of two.
Before concluding, Aguilera wrote, “I encourage everyone to take the time to put one step in front of the next day to make the next better version of themselves.”
“Allowing yourself grace, patience and respect,” she concluded, “acceptance comes with first accepting yourself. And getting there is sometimes a difficult journey.”
Her post is a nod to her transformation earlier this year in which Aguilera lost a significant amount of weight, leading to suspicions that she turned to the popular weight loss and diabetes drug Ozempic.
