Dera Ismail Khan: Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur expressed satisfaction over the progress of work on development schemes in his native district on Sunday and directed the concerned authorities to ensure timely completion of welfare projects.

He was addressing a meeting held to review the development portfolio of Dera Ismail Khan district under the Provincial Annual Development Programme. Senior officials of DI Khan’s divisional and district administration participated in the meeting, while Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Ikramullah Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Interior Muhammad Abid Majeed and administrative secretaries of related departments attended the meeting from Peshawar through video link. attended

The Chief Minister stressed for uniform development in all divisions and prioritization of backward and integrated districts in planning and funding. The Chief Minister directed the Divisional Commissioners to monitor development activities in their respective divisions and ensure availability of required funds. He urged the line departments to communicate their financial requirements promptly to the Finance Department and avoid unnecessary delays by ensuring timely completion of public benefit projects.

Earlier, the Chief Minister was briefed about the progress of ongoing and new projects in various sectors at DI Khan. Officials said that work is underway on 19 major projects in sectors such as health, education, communication, sports, irrigation, industry, tourism, social welfare, relief and livestock. He said that the total cost of these projects is 70 billion rupees, 6.1 billion rupees have been allocated for the current financial year, of which 724 million rupees have already been released. It was further informed that 25 new projects worth 23.8 billion rupees have been included in the provincial annual development program for DI Khan, 1.4 billion rupees have been allocated in this year’s budget. Among them, 12 priority projects have been shortlisted which include establishment of Girls Cadet College, Satellite Center of Peshawar Institute of Cardiology, Burn Center and Cath Lab. Other important initiatives include construction of flyover, establishment of girls commerce college, new building of education board and relocation of tank bus terminal. The meeting was informed that Rs.357 million has been released for the construction of flyovers in the district, a summary of Rs.233 million has been presented for the expansion of the Girls Commerce College and purchase of equipment, while for the establishment of the college. 209 million has been proposed. Girls Cadet College. Similarly, work is in progress on the revised PC-I for setting up a cath lab, while PC-II for the satellite center of Peshawar Institute of Cardiology has been developed at a cost of Rs 25 million.
