Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi is hopeful of “better decisions” for the Champions Trophy 2025 despite the postponement of the crucial International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting scheduled for today (Saturday). .
“Discussions are on, however, I will not comment on anything at this time,” Naqvi said while addressing a press conference during a visit to the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) ground today.
He further said that Pakistan has played a positive role and will continue to do so.
Naqvi said the PCB would not disappoint the nation and would give details after a “final decision” about the ICC’s major tournament to be held in Pakistan in February next year.
The PCB chief said: “The decision has to be taken by the ICC and it will announce it.” He added that some reports circulating in the media were “not based on facts”.
“We are trying our best to do something better for Pakistan and international cricket.”
Responding to a question regarding the global cricketing body’s treatment of all boards equally, Naqvi replied: “If the ICC develops, it will lead to the development of the entire world cricket. Likewise, any board in the ICC will develop. The shortage will also affect world cricket, but I hope we will see improvement.”
