ISLAMABAD: The 71st meeting of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Development Working Party (DWP) was held on Wednesday at CDA Headquarters under the chairmanship of Chairman CDA/CDA-DWP Muhammad Ali Randhawa. .
CDA board members, representatives of Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Interior and concerned senior officers participated in the meeting.
The forum considered and approved four major development schemes to improve the city’s infrastructure and services. CDA-DWP meeting approved PC-I for upgradation, lighting and beautification of Constitution Avenue in Sector F-5/G-5, Islamabad at a cost of Rs.490.082 million. The project aims to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of important government buildings, including the President’s House, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Library, Parliament House, Supreme Court, Federal Shariat Court, Cabinet Blocks. , and Office of the Auditor General of Pakistan. The project will develop CDA assets on a permanent basis and is expected to be completed in four months.
Recognizing the challenges posed by rapid urbanisation, the CDA-DWP meeting recommended the PC to hire a consultancy firm to provide consultancy services for developing a state-of-the-art municipal solid waste management system as per the government’s directives. -II approved. Pakistan This initiative aims to reduce pollution, reduce health risks and promote a clean urban environment. The consultation phase will take 4 months, during which a mechanism will be developed to implement international standards in solid waste management.
To promote Islamabad’s hospitality sector and enhance its global reputation, PC-II hired a consultancy firm to conduct a feasibility study and provide transaction advisory services for the development of 5-star hotels in the city. Approved to do. This initiative will promote economic growth, boost tourism, and elevate Islamabad’s stature as a hub of political, diplomatic, and business activity. The consultancy phase will span 12 months, focusing on proposing innovative operational models based on joint venture and profit sharing.
Recognizing the dire need of a modern slaughter house in Islamabad, CDA-DWP hired a transaction advisor to conduct a feasibility study and provide consultancy services for developing a modern slaughter house at Hamik. -II approved. The existing small-scale facility, established in 1964, has become obsolete. The new facility to be constructed on 15.75 acres of CDA land will ensure supply of healthy and quality meat. The consultation phase of the project will take 12 months and public-private partnership models will be explored for implementation.
