Police are searching for the driver of a car after a father-of-two was hit and killed while walking his dog.
The man was hit by a car while walking near Caer Salem Baptist Chapel in Llanpumsaint, Carmarthenshire, between 18:45 GMT and 19:45 on Monday.
The victim has been identified locally as Aaron Jones. A village councilor described Mr Jones as in his 30s with two young children.
Dyfed-Powys Police said they are looking for the male driver of the blue car which was badly damaged.
The force has appealed to the driver or anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact them.
Councilor Brian Davies, who represents the village on Carmarthenshire County Council, said the community was in mourning.
He said the village was “very quiet” and described the death as “tragic”.
The road remained closed until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Officers have established that the vehicle involved was traveling northbound through Llanpumsaint at the time of the collision.”
Llanpumsaint Park posted on Facebook that it had canceled its Santa parade and extended its “deepest sympathies” to the family and community.
