Capacity building of health care providers was discussed.

Lahore (PR) A delegation of Infection Prevention and Control Foundation (IPAC) met Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq at the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education here on Friday.

According to a handout, the delegation included IPAC Foundation MD Muhammad Sameer Shafi and others. Khawaja Salman Rafique and the delegation discussed capacity building of health care providers to reduce the burden of infectious and communicable diseases in Punjab. Officials of the institution gave a briefing on epidemics and community health centers.

The provincial minister said that the Punjab government is promoting public-private partnerships in the province and paying special attention to capacity building of health care providers to reduce the burden of infectious and communicable diseases in the province. He further said that the Punjab government is taking effective screening and prevention measures to control dangerous diseases.

Khawaja Salman Rafique further said that there is a need to conduct an awareness campaign against epidemics across the province. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, efforts are underway to provide the best health facilities to the people. He also appreciated the efforts of private institutions cooperating with the Punjab government in providing medical facilities to the public in the health sector.
