The details of the discussions during the two meetings were not disclosed. However, the legal team is reportedly working on a strategy to deal with the former prime minister’s ongoing legal battles.
Meanwhile, PTI founder chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday termed the ISPR director general’s briefing as factually incorrect and said that the strategy for dealing with the Taliban was devised by the then establishment, in which Gen. Bajwa and General Faiz were also involved.
While talking to journalists here, lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said regarding Imran Khan that Imran Khan said this while talking to him in Adiala Jail.
Faisal explained that the cabinet was first briefed on the settlement with the Taliban, followed by talks between the PDM government and the opposition. He said with reference to Imran that the corps commander of Peshawar went to the Taliban on the western border.
Faisal said that Imran reiterated that the solution to the problem is political and not military.
The party wanted seriousness and forward movement in the negotiations with the government and hence two demands namely electoral mandate and 26th amendment were shelved.
Faisal said that two actionable demands were presented to the government committee, including the release of all political prisoners and the formation of a judicial commission on the May 9 and November 26 incidents. He further said that the founding chairman of the party reiterated the demand for the formation of a judicial commission and the release of all political prisoners.
Faisal stressed the need for more serious efforts to secure the release of Imran Khan and other leaders facing ‘fabricated cases’. “We want our cases to be conducted according to the law and the constitution, as it will help to finish them all one by one,” he claimed.
Faisal said that a series of cases are going on against Imran Khan. All these cases are made on political basis and there is no truth in these cases. Faisal said that the punishments of military courts are controversial. “Justice does not seem to be done in these cases. The element of transparency is missing. The constitution of Pakistan should be protected and human rights should be taken care of.
“We do not accept concessions in negotiations. We demand justice. Our leader is being politically targeted. We are giving a deadline of January 31 to see the seriousness of the government,” he asserted. said
He pointed out that the founder of the party has spoken about an element in the government that wants to sabotage the talks.
Faisal said that Imran Khan has given instructions for an immediate solution to the Parachinar issue and law enforcement agencies are working on it. This problem is spreading in Sindh and Balochistan.
He quoted the leader of his party as saying that this issue should be resolved on humanitarian basis. We condemn the fascist actions of Sindh government and police. “Obviously, a community is being targeted and they have a right to protest,” he quoted Imran as saying on the matter.
Faisal claimed that Imran Khan is fully committed and it is the duty of the party to make serious efforts for his release.
