1. An apple a day keeps the doctors away. It is also good for dentists. Apple is also known as a natural toothbrush. In fact, all crisp fruits and raw vegetables like carrots, celery and apples help clean plaque and tartar from teeth. They also reduce cavity-causing bacteria and increase saliva flow to keep the oral cavity clean and healthy.
2. Strawberries – Strawberries contain the whitening enzyme malic acid and can do wonders for our smile. To get a pair of pearly white teeth, rub strawberries directly on the teeth or make a puree and rub them into a paste.
3. Bananas When we are talking about fruits, how can we forget our favorite banana which is loaded with amazing minerals like potassium, magnesium and manganese that can do wonders for our overall health.
4. Mint green tea: A sip of mint green tea after every meal is a great way to maintain oral hygiene provided it is made at home. This will keep your oral cavity healthy and smelling good. You can sometimes do cinnamon and cardamom variations.
5. Sweet potatoes are a rich source of vitamins that help protect our tooth enamel and enhance pearly white teeth.
6. Green leafy vegetables A healthy dose of vitamins for both gums and teeth Spinach tops the charts for being rich in vitamin A, vitamin B2, vitamin B12.
Let’s add some winter care tips to it:
1. Do not eat very hot or very cold food as it may cause sensitivity.
2. Do not expose your teeth to cold air as this can also cause sensitivity.
3. Wear a tooth guard when going out in extreme cold.
4. Wearing a scarf can keep your lower jaw and neck warm, and you can move it to cover your mouth if needed.
5. Drink water to keep your mouth moist and reduce the risk of cavities. Cold weather can dry out your mouth and reduce saliva production.
6. Maintain good oral hygiene at all times
7. Brush flossing mouth rinse and tongue cleaning.
