King Charles appears to have issued an important message to Prince William regarding his future role.
The Prince of Wales, who stepped out for his first royal engagement since taking on a new role on Wednesday, appears to be increasing his influence within the royal family as rumors of abdication once again swirled.
However, as the monarch takes on her royal duties with renewed vigor despite continuing her cancer treatment, Charles is determined to leave a lasting impression on her reign.
On Wednesday, Charles marked a milestone for his charity, the King’s Foundation, when it celebrated 35 years of its work.
Buckingham Palace released a statement with highlights of the royal ceremony, which saw Charles holding a personal letter for future generations in a time capsule.
“King adds personal items to the time capsule to celebrate 35 years of The King’s Foundation,” the statement said. “As Royal Founding President, His Majesty launched a year of events for the charity at Dumfries House today. Joined by ambassadors, students and alumni, the King presented his personal gardening secateurs and a letter that Will be opened in 2125.
He continued, “The time capsule, filled with items representing the charity’s impact, will be buried in the @dumfrieshouse estate and opened in one hundred years’ time.”
