Britney Spears’ niece, Maddy Brian Aldridge, has made a major decision that will change the course of her life.
The Toxic singer’s sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, shared life-changing information about her daughter on Instagram on Monday.
The 16-year-old will attend the University of Southern Mississippi next year, following high school graduation, to play college softball, according to the Post.
gave Zoey 101 The star began her post with, “In all my feelings, bc my daughter has committed to pursue her athletic and academic career at the University of Southern Miss.”
She continued praising her daughter, “I feel like I can’t take too much credit for anything, bc I made this kid do some impossible things with my strong will, faith, determination, and sheer passion. Passing through, the face and the grace of God have seen it overcome.”
Spears also spoke about her decision to continue with her pregnancy and give birth to her daughter at age 16 despite the backlash from society.
“I can remember it like it was yesterday, as I watched and decided for the whole world to choose to give birth to my child at the age of 16,” she wrote.
“Fast fwd to today, and that same little girl is now 16 years old announcing herself that she’s going to play D1 ball for a great college.”
The How Could I Want More crooner also revealed how she transformed herself into a better ‘mama’ to her daughter and sheltered her daughter from the cycle of ‘generational curses’.
“I did everything I could to improve myself to what she deserved, and to break the curses of those generations, so they wouldn’t be passed on to her or future generations.”
Expressing happiness for her daughter, she wrote, “I think her story is a true testament to trusting in God’s will and being able to achieve anything you want to work hard for. And I couldn’t be more proud of it.”
