A two-year-old boy has been killed and four adults injured in a crash involving a stolen car.

The collision between a Toyota Auris and a gray Porsche Cayenne happened just before 23:00 GMT on Saturday in Dartmouth Road, Smithwick, West Midlands.

A woman, aged 29, and a 30-year-old man are in a critical condition in hospital, while another man and woman, both in a stable condition.

The driver of the Porsche, which was stolen in early December, fled the scene, detectives said.

Police believe the Porsche was pulling away from the Kenrick Way roundabout when the crash happened.

Police confirmed that the child and the four adults who were injured were all traveling in the Toyota.

The road was closed in both directions while reconstruction crews examined the scene, but has since reopened.

Det Sgt Paul Hughes, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I would appeal to the driver of the Porsche to do the right thing and come and speak to us.

“They made the wrong decision to run and I’m asking them now to make the right decision.”

Sarah Coombes, MP for West Bromwich, spoke in Parliament about speeding on Kenrick Way on 27 November.

He said local residents feel “scared” on Friday and Saturday nights.
