Blur bassist Alex James recently landed in hot water after his Christmas party didn’t go down well with the locals.
Her festive bash in the countryside ruffled some feathers, leaving the neighbors less than impressed.
The 56-year-old guitarist admitted he got drunk at a local party and upset all the guests by using an old statue of the baby Jesus as an ashtray.
James opened up about his memory of the incident and shared, “I was smoking in a room with art and stuff like I always do.”
“Someone I didn’t know said, ‘I’m not sure if you’re allowed to smoke here,'” he added.
He revealed that he grabbed a small ashtray from the side table where he was leaning and took out a cigarette.
“Sadly, unlike some staterooms, not everything in it was actually an ashtray.”
James continued, “I happened upon an ancient statue of a naked baby Jesus and rubbed all over his crotch, completely oblivious to my dimples coming out.”
However, Alex James played a major role in creating the band’s iconic sound, making them one of the biggest names in British music.
