Denzel Washington made a surprise announcement about a new Black Panther Last month even before the makers of the film confirmed it.
However, the 69-year-old quickly realized his mistake and admitted to apologizing to director Ryan Coogler for breaking the news to him.
Earlier today, news broke that Marvel Studios had officially confirmed it. Black Panther 3 is in development.
Marvel executive Nate Moore, who is set to leave the company next year, has shared that he will leave the studios but will first work on Coogler’s new entry.
In a statement, he added: “Almost everything I know about Produs I learned from my time at Marvel Studios.”
“I feel fortunate to work with a group of people who love filmmaking and storytelling as much as my Marvel colleagues and the cast and crew of our films.”
Moore continued by saying that he is excited to apply his experience and passion for making theatrical films of all genres, including the third sequel to the 2018 film.
“But I couldn’t be more excited to apply my experience and passion for film to theatrical films across all genres, including returning to the world of Wakanda for Black Panther 3,” concluded the longtime Marvel executive.
The 2018 action sci-fi already has a sequel title. Black Panther: Wakanda. Forever which came out in 2022.
