Bill Hader is in “shock.”
Tuesday, January 15 Barry Alum Bill Hader, 46, said his Pacific Palisades home escaped the Los Angeles wildfires, though it sustained some damage.
“People keep saying ‘unreal,’ it doesn’t seem real,” Heather said KTLA 5Reflects on the devastation in his neighborhood.
“I’m sorry, I’m in shock. It’s just gone. Everything. Alphabet Street, which, to me, is the heart of the Palisades, this beautiful, beautiful area is gone. The whole thing is gone. ”
Haider recounts the moment he received the eviction notice while at work.
“I found a video that showed the fire and I ran back, but by the time I got back, [traffic] There was gridlock,” he recalled. “I’m glad my family got out. I think it’s a great community. I’m really at a loss for words.”
He marveled at the fire’s rapid growth, adding, “I mean, it happened so fast… It’s kind of mind-boggling how fast it happens. So I hope everyone is safe, that’s all you can hope for now.”
Heather urged Los Angeles residents to immediately heed evacuation notices near the fire.
“If you get an eviction notice, just leave,” he advised. “I know people who were like ‘OK, wait and see’ and ‘I’m in the yellow zone’ or whatever. This thing, once it’s red, you can’t get out.
“Don’t listen to your friends who are like, ‘Ah, you’re being a bit of a jerk,'” he said, stressing the importance of immediate action. Just get out.”
