Beyoncé has sparked a heated debate on social media after Forbes magazine dropped her husband’s name.
The 43-year-old singer was named one of the most powerful women of 2024. Forbes magazine, however, the detail that caught fans’ attention was that the singer was listed as ‘Beyoncé Knowles’ instead of her official name ‘Beyoncé Knowles-Carter’.
The Hello singer has reportedly called herself “Mrs. Carter” for more than a decade and has toured under Jay-Z’s name several times, including on his most recent music album, Cowboy Carter Also refers to her married name.
Beyoncé’s bold move sparked backlash as countless fans took to their X accounts to express their utter shock and dismay.
One fan wrote, “The Soft Launch name change is a clever way to tease something new!”

The world-renowned singer’s decision comes after an unidentified woman accused Jay-Z and his close friend Sean ‘Daddy’ Combs of raping him.
On December 8, a woman filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z, claiming he sexually harassed her during an afterparty for the 2000 MTV Music Video Awards.
The rap star later denied all the allegations, filed a counter-suit against the woman and requested authorities to reveal the identity of the accuser.
