At least 18 people were killed in two separate traffic accidents in Punjab and Sindh on Monday, in which 37 people were injured in a bus overturning incident in Fateh Jang and a van-trailer collision in Nowshehro Feroze.
11 people including 6 women and 5 men were killed when a bus overturned on the M-14 motorway near Fateh Jang.
Rescue officials told the media that the number of injured in the accident is 22, adding that the victims belong to Bahawalpur, Wahari, Sharqpur and Islamabad.
Additionally, rescue officials say that six people, including three women, have been shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, while one injured has been shifted to Islamabad and District Headquarters Hospital.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Motorway Police says that the bus going from Bahawalpur to Islamabad met with a fatal accident due to the negligence of the driver.
Inspector General of Motorway Police Rifat Mukhtar has ordered an immediate investigation into the bus accident.
The IG expressed sympathy and condolence to the bereaved families while directing to provide the best medical facilities to the injured.

Sources further said that all the deceased belonged to the Tagar tribe and were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow and regret over the collision between a trawler and a van in Nowshehru Feroze and the deaths caused by the overturning of a bus near Attock Fateh Jang Interchange.
He offered heartfelt condolence and expressed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families.
He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and directed the concerned authorities to provide the best treatment facilities to the injured.
