LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Friday sealed 26 more properties in the city besides demolishing several illegal constructions and signboards.

Following the directives of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq, LDA had intensified its efforts to eradicate illegal commercial buildings and encroachments across the city. LDA teams targeted various areas including Khayaban Ferdowsi, Johar Town, BOR, Gulberg and Garden Town. Illegal constructions were demolished and signboards removed from properties in Khayaban Ferdowsi (Johor Town) and BOR, while illegal shops and an unconverted property of a private bank were also demolished.

Several properties in B Block, Johor Town were also targeted, signboards were removed for non-payment of commercial fees and 26 properties in Gulberg and Garden Town were sealed, including food points, restaurants, private schools, cafes, Shops, offices included. and stores.

The sealed properties had previously received several notices prior to the operation. The LDA DG reiterated that the LDA would continue to take impartial action against illegal commercial buildings and defaulters of commercial fees and ensure strict adherence to urban planning and development laws.
