Another 111 buildings were sealed, demolished.

LAHORE: Teams of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Wednesday sealed and demolished 111 properties in a crackdown against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters.

LDA teams conducted operations in Gulberg, Faisal Town, Garden Town, Sabzazar, Shah Jamal, Gulshan Ravi, Sumanabad. The properties that were sold or demolished include private schools, restaurants, saloons, food points, shops, offices, stores, etc. Several notices were given to these properties prior to the operation. Meanwhile, MNA Aoon Chaudhry along with DGLDA Tahir Farooq visited different areas of Gulberg and Garden Town. MNA Aoon Chaudhry informed the DG about the problems of the residents of Constituency NA 128.

Tahir Farooq told about the ongoing initiatives under the sustainable model in Gulberg scheme. MNA Aoon Chaudhry and DG reviewed the ongoing development works in B-3 Block Gulberg. The MNA appreciated the development work under the sustainable model of LDA.

DGLDA said that in the first phase B3 block is being made a model block in Gulberg scheme under sustainable model. Special measures are also being taken for pedestrians in Gulberg scheme. The Gulbarg scheme will improve road markings, build rain wells for underground drainage of rainwater and rehabilitate streets along with tuff tiles. Aun Chaudhry suggested to take measures under sustainable model in other schemes on the pattern of Gulberg scheme. Later, LDA DG Tahir Farooq reviewed the ongoing works in G One Market Commercial Zone, Johar Town. Sewerage has been laid in front of G One Market Commercial Zone Johar Town, work on underground wiring was in progress.
