Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have finally finalized their divorce after an eight-year legal battle over asset division.
While Jolie is still embroiled in another lawsuit with her ex-husband, the Mariah actress has been forced to end the difficult battle for the sake of her six children.
Jolie shares three biological children with Pitt – Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivian and Knox, now 16 – and three adopted ones – Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahra, 19.
After the 2016 private jet incident, in which Pitt allegedly became violent with Jolie and her children while drinking, the children over the years began to distance themselves from their father.
Soon after the incident, Jolie filed for divorce, ending their two-year marriage. However, given the long legal complications in his case, he was only declared legally single in 2019.
Shiloh, Zahara and Vivian publicly dropped their father’s name during the ongoing fight, after which Jolie also faced accusations of turning her children against Pitt.

According to a source close to the actress, Jolie “doesn’t speak ill. [Pitt] Publicly or privately.” The insider continued, “She’s trying hard to be the light after dark times.”
In a statement released by Jolie’s lawyer, they said it was “just one part of a long ongoing process that began eight years ago.”
He noted that Julie is “exhausted, but she’s relieved that part of it is over.”
