ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have strongly condemned the alleged beating of rangers and police personnel by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers on Srinagar highway on Tuesday.
He expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of the Rangers personnel in the incident and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and courage for the bereaved families to bear this shock.
In his statement, the Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities to identify the culprits and bring them to justice and provide the best medical care to the injured security personnel.
The prime minister said that the attack on police and rangers in the name of so-called peaceful protest is condemnable.
He said the “anarchist group” was deliberately targeting law enforcement agencies deployed to maintain peace in the city.
