PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has signed a memorandum of understanding for the implementation of “Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme”.

The MoU between the Housing Department and Bank of Khyber was signed at a function held at the Chief Minister House here. Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur attended the event as a special guest. Cabinet members including Dr. Amjad Ali and Muzamil Aslam, officials of the concerned departments and Bank of Khyber were also present.

Under the Ehsaas Apna Ghar scheme, low-income earners will be eligible for interest-free loans of up to Rs 15 lakh for construction of new houses on their own land or for expansion and renovation of existing houses. The scheme, which has a budget of Rs 4 billion, offers a seven-year easy repayment schedule with a maximum monthly installment of Rs 18,000. It will work on a system of revolving funds and will continue for the next seven years. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur emphasized that providing quality houses to the people is the top priority of the provincial government.
