Amnesty International accuses Israel of genocide in Gaza – Essa TV

Amnesty International has released a damning report accusing Israel of genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip.

Report titled ‘You Feel Like You Are Subhuman’: Israel’s Genocide Against Palestinians in Gaza” on the destruction and violence inflicted on Palestinians during Israeli military operations following the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023. Provides details.

The report alleges that Israel is engaging in acts prohibited under the Genocide Convention, particularly the destruction of the Palestinian population in Gaza. Amnesty International has cited killings, inflicting grievous bodily harm, and creating living conditions that amount to physical destruction as proof of Israeli acts of genocide.

Amnesty International Secretary-General Agnes Callomard said Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians amounted to crimes against humanity and showed an intent to physically destroy them. Callamard stressed that these findings should alert the international community to the reality of genocide and the need for urgent action to prevent further atrocities.

Callamard further warned that countries that supply weapons to Israel are complicit in violating their obligations to prevent genocide and are at risk of complicity in these crimes. He appealed to influential countries, including the United States, Germany and European Union members, to take immediate action to stop Israel’s operations in Gaza.

Israel maintains that its military operations are justified and aimed at eliminating Hamas. However, the report claims that the intent to commit genocide against Palestinians is clear, separate from the stated military objectives. The report’s findings are expected to further inflame the already tense international debate surrounding the conflict.
