PESHAWAR: After reports of the use of tear gas during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Islamabad surfaced, the Central Police Office (CPO) of Peshawar has made tear gas available with the police department. Details have been requested.
Islamabad Inspector General Ali Nasir Rizvi said on Wednesday that around 1,000 supporters of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan were arrested by law enforcement agencies as they marched this week to demand the release of the PTI founder. Abad stormed.

The CPO noted that a letter had been written on November 21 instructing the police department to remain apolitical during the political tension, which was suspected over the alleged use of tear gas during the protests.
The CPO ordered that “details of the exact storage of tear gas available and its use during the last one week be provided.”
The CPO said a team would physically verify the stock available in various units and areas.
“There have been reports on social and electronic media that tear gas has been allegedly used by protesters during the ongoing protests in Islamabad.
