Mardan: Mardan Medical Complex (MMC) released its annual performance report, which revealed that the health facility provided healthcare to a total of 1,122,244 patients. The report also highlighted that 1,030,556 different laboratory tests were conducted during the last year.
According to the report, out of a total of 1,122,244 patients, 610,754 were treated in the accident and emergency department while 511,490 patients were examined in the outpatient department.
Additionally, 82,707 patients were admitted to various specialties for further investigation and treatment. The report further stated that 9,727 babies were born in the hospital during the last year. He also noted that free health care services under the Facilitation Program continued at the facility, benefiting 40,556 people who received treatment through the health insurance scheme.
Regarding diagnostic services, the report said the hospital conducted 8,845 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, 27,272 computed tomography (CT) scans and 116,611 ultrasound examinations. In addition, 33,224 major surgeries and 11,83 surgeries were performed during this period. .
The report also mentioned the ongoing medical services offered by the Institutional Based Private Practice (IBPP), where 186,550 people visited the facility for medical consultation, of which 2,605 patients were admitted for further treatment. done The report stated that the hospital has expanded its services. By establishing three new departments including neurology, endocrinology (for diabetes care) and plastic surgery.
Additionally, in view of the increased need for intensive care beds, the number of beds in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was increased from 6 to 14, while a new medical ICU with 10 beds was also established. This was done to accommodate the increasing number of patients. Patients requiring specialized care to ensure better outcomes and save more precious lives.
To enhance its services, the hospital also established a Cauterization Laboratory, equipped to treat patients with cardiac complications. The new facility will provide angiography and angioplasty services, allowing patients in and around Mardan to receive treatment locally instead of traveling to other cities. The facility is expected to be inaugurated soon.
