PESHAWAR: The USAID-supported Strategic Partnership Framework (SPF) for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) was launched here on Tuesday.
The framework was officially launched by US Consul General Shante Moore in Peshawar and Arifullah Awan, Chief Economist of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a press release said.
The framework was developed in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Department of Planning and Development, Government of KP. The communication termed the move as a milestone in promoting a sustainable and inclusive economic environment in the region.
It said the framework is expected to improve coordination between the public and private sectors, development partners and academic institutions to boost economic growth and attract private sector investment. .
In his address, the US Consul General reiterated the US Government’s commitment to drive inclusive economic development in Pakistan, with special emphasis on KP. He highlighted the partnership between the US government and Pakistan in promoting sustainable development and empowering local economies.
The US diplomat said that this framework is proof of the transformative potential of cooperation. “By uniting various stakeholders, it aligns seamlessly with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s vision for a resilient and inclusive economy,” he added.
Shante Moore said the US government, through USAID, is proud to support this initiative, which not only strengthens the SME sector but also lays the foundation for a strong and self-sustaining economic environment in the region. is
