A tsunami warning was issued after a magnitude 7 earthquake hit California.

According to the US Geological Survey, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake has been felt off the coast of Northern California.

The earthquake prompted tsunami warnings for the coasts of both northern California and southern Oregon.

The epicenter was near Ferndale, California, a small town in Humboldt County.

It was not immediately clear if there was any damage from the earthquake.
