A teenage boy lost his life and another was injured in aerial firing during a wedding celebration in Gulshan Sikandarabad area of Kemari on Friday. Both the shooter and the accused fled the spot while the police detained four suspects for questioning.
During the marriage of a man named Shehzad, aerial firing was carried out in Jackson police station. Two boys aged 13 and 9 were seriously injured. A 13-year-old boy, Malik son of Zahid, died on the way to a private hospital. Nine-year-old Abrar’s son Jan Muhammad is in critical condition.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and visited the hospital. Later, Malik’s body was shifted from a private hospital to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for further processing.
According to SHO Mithal Sher, preliminary investigation revealed that Izzat Khan, who works at Tandoor, was firing shots during the celebration. The groom’s father reportedly tried to stop him and others from firing, but his warnings were ignored. After the incident, many people including Izzat Khan and groom Shahzad escaped.
