LAHORE: National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) on Thursday energized 2nd 250 MVA auto transformer at 220 KV grid station Wapda Town Lahore to increase its power transmission capacity.
The Project Delivery (North) Lahore team has completed the addition of 250 MVA 220/132 KV autotransformer to the existing 160 MVA, 220/132 KV autotransformer (T-2). It was part of the World Bank-funded National Transmission Modernization Project (NTMP-1). This capacity addition will increase the power transmission capacity of the 220 KV Wapda Town Grid Station, which will ensure reliable power supply to Lahore and adjoining areas. The upgraded infrastructure will directly benefit the domestic, commercial and industrial consumers served by Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) through improved power supply and reduced transmission disruptions. The Managing Director of NTDC, Engineer Muhammad Waseem Younis, appreciated the team of Project Delivery (North) Lahore for the early completion of the infrastructure upgradation project.
