A man is in critical condition after being shot. New York City Subway tracks on New Year’s Eve added to a recent spate of violent incidents on the nation’s busiest subway system.
The victim, a 45-year-old man, had a miraculous escape after being hit by an oncoming 1 train at the 18th Street station. He suffered a head injury and was in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital Tuesday night, the New York Post reported.
“By God’s own hand, he fell right into the ditch,” a law enforcement source told the Post.
The NYPD received a 911 call claiming an assault was in progress. Subway station Tuesday afternoon.
