Now that the smoke from last night’s fireworks has cleared, 2025 has officially dawned upon us. In other words, it’s time to make a set of well-intentioned New Year’s resolutions that will dissolve as February rolls around. If you want to be healthier, more organized, or just want an upgraded version of yourself, here are some manageable baby-step resolutions worth getting through February. Walk 30 Minutes a Day If you’re kicking yourself for not appreciating your toned body ten years ago, know that a daily walk is a much more attainable goal than committing to a gym membership. A gung-ho fitness routine looks great on paper until you’re feeling the lactic acid burn after a particularly grueling session. By all means ditch the gym, but don’t let your fitness journey die. Put a watch on your feet and take a brisk 30-minute walk, whether it’s on your terrace or your lawn. Listen to a podcast or playlist to make things less boring, but tasks that fit into your routine like brushing your teeth. By the end of the year, you’ll have clocked up 182.5 hours of speed, far exceeding your current zero average. If 30 minutes is too taxing, stick to a seven-minute daily YouTube workout. Your body works tirelessly to extract nutrients from pointless vaccines for you. You can gift him seven minutes in return. Eat a salad for lunch A salad should not consist of a plate of sliced cucumbers with a leftover diced tomato. Nor does it have to be drenched in dressing to be a hearty meal. A rainbow salad that includes lots of beautiful leafy greens and colorful vegetables, as well as protein in the form of kidney beans, chickpeas, chicken, salmon, tuna, or a hard-boiled egg, can stand beautifully on its own. is Chop up some spinach, lettuce, cucumber, bell peppers (both red and yellow), tomatoes, carrots, and cooked beets. Add a handful of protein of your choice. Lightly drizzle in olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice and honey. Add a pinch of garlic powder and dried oregano or basil for a different kick. The crunch combined with the crunch of the vegetables makes this lunch worth your time. Speaking of time, it takes less than 15 minutes to make (if you already have leftover chicken and cooked beets) and comes with minimal mess and the added satisfaction of knowing that you has done something good for himself today. First of all, wear clothes that make you feel good when you look good. And when you feel good, you’re set for the rest of the day. This is a given when you work outside the home, but if you work online at home, don’t get out of bed five seconds before you log on. Take a shower and get dressed first thing in the morning. If you’re a male who works from home, shave and don’t wear the same t-shirt you wore yesterday. If you’re a woman (who either works from home or does thankless housework at home without an ID), wear some nice earrings and a dash of makeup. Even your most annoying online peers (or housemates) become tolerable when you don’t look like you just came out of the washing machine’s spin cycle. If anything, the precautions of getting ready will prevent your neighbors from seeing your greasy hair and tatty night clothes when you accidentally lock yourself out of the house. (Bonus: If you generally dislike humanity, rest assured you’ll never be locked out of your house or bump into a neighbor when you’re looking your best.)
