Nicola Coughlin recently revealed that her mother was not comfortable watching her in intimate scenes. Bridgerton.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the actress said that “my mother was very mad at me about those scenes – like they were my fault, so I didn’t go to the screening with her”.
Nicola, who plays Penelope Featherington on the hit Netflix show, opened up about her mature role in the hit show’s third season.
“I realized I was 35 when I was shooting the season, and I had never played an adult. I was like, ‘How do I do this?'” she explained.
However, the actress mentioned, “[In] First two [Bridgerton] In the series, I looked a lot like Spongebob Squarepants, very curly, ginger. [hair]Yellow clothes, tent-like situation going on.
“Playing the romantic lead and then knowing that it was all because it’s a sexy show,” she explained.
“There’s a lot of sexy stuff in it, and then I realized I had to do intimate stuff and I was like, ‘Okay,'” Nicola hinted.
For the uninitiated, season three focused on the friends-lovers storyline between Nicola’s character and Luke Newton’s Colin Bergerton.
Earlier in May, Nicola spoke to Stylist magazine and talked about the show’s famous mirror scene.
She recalled, “There’s a scene where I’m very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice. It was incredibly empowering.”
“I felt beautiful in that moment, and I thought: ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how hot I looked!'” added Nicola.
