A foreign couple visiting historical places in Sindh on bicycles were robbed, it was revealed on Sunday.
Police said the couple, Polish nationals Kowalczyk Jakub Tomasz and Scantamburlo Marie Elisabeth from France, were abducted near the Sajawal Bypass.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said that the thief deprived the foreign couple of their mobile phones.
The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) on behalf of the state and started investigation into the incident.
However, an official of the Archeology Department of Sindh said Geo News That the couple was looted in Makkale Cemetery, there are about half a million tombs and graves of members of the royal family, Sufi saints and others.
“The couple stayed last night at Muckley Cemetery. [Saturday night] where robbers robbed them,” confirmed the assistant of the archeology department. He said the couple were guests of the provincial archeology department.
After the incident, the couple left for Hyderabad.
In early October, amid growing lawlessness in the city, bandits dressed in police uniform robbed foreign tourists at Karachi’s Defense Housing Authority (DHA).
Four foreign tourists were robbed of $1,080 (Rs 300,942) during a robbery near Khayaban-e-Mujahid, police officials confirmed.
Frustrated by the bad law and order situation in the city, the tourists left the country the next day without filing any complaint with the police.
