Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma may visit Pakistan before ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
According to Indian media reports, the visit will be for a pre-tournament photo shoot and a joint press conference in which the captains of all the participating teams will be present. Organized under ICC rules, the event traditionally takes place in the host country, which for 2025 is Pakistan.
A final decision on Sharma’s participation in the event is still under consideration. Indian media noted, “If the tour is a success, it will be a moment of joy for cricket fans of both countries.”
The Champions Trophy is scheduled to begin on February 19 with a match between Pakistan and New Zealand. India’s first match is scheduled to take place on February 20 in Dubai where they will face Bangladesh.
Sharma’s possible visit would be a significant moment in the sporting ties between the two countries, which have been strained by political tensions.
