Last week Joy mentioned her word/focus of the year, illogically and beautifully, “JOY”. I love seeing all your words and focus for the coming year, even if it’s going to be an interesting year very soon. Although I haven’t chosen a single word to focus on, I am focusing on romanticizing my everyday life. A mechanical keyboard Just delivered, its clucking sounds are strangely soothing (I love a little ASMR moment). In the shower, I take extra time to exfoliate, then moisturize and soak in the bathroom steam. Basically, I’m finding ways to love the little moments right now, because if I don’t, I’ll fall apart. Do extra little things that seem silly. Those seemingly out-of-the-way moments make life rich, at least I think so. Bring a tea kettle and wait for the water to boil on your stove, its whistle telling you it’s time to slow down and have some tea. This morning, I picked up the pastry The Emily Hotelfollowed by a chicken Caesar salad sandwich (oh yeah) from an old Italian bakery, why not?
Honestly, it’s hard to understand anything else right now, especially happy moments. This Sunday, I hope you find moments of peace, and maybe even a little romance. This will be a short post, but a soft launch to start your week.
All my love to you guys, every bit of it.
