Meta-owned WhatsApp, known for rolling out updates and new features to improve user experience, is rolling out a new “Events” feature.
The new feature will ensure that events are also present in regular chats after community tabs for a more seamless experience for all users. WABetaInfo.
The platform feature is scheduled for release in a future update. Events that users create in their individual chats will be similar to events created in group chats to maintain consistency across the platform.
Users will need to provide a name for the event, which is mandatory, with an optional description to provide additional context.
Ensuring that all participants are clear about the schedule, the date on which the event will take place is required.
Additionally, users will still have the option to specify the end time of the event, while making it easier to define the duration.
An optional location can also be attached to the event, enabling attendees to know where the meeting or activity will take place.
Additionally, once an event is created in an individual chat, it will automatically be shared within that conversation, and the recipient will be notified.
Making it easy for users to confirm their participation, the recipient can then choose to accept or decline the event invitation.
